Another Forking Garden!

I started up this blog as I love to write and I love to garden. In 2025 I decided to combine to two for my own enjoyment and education, and hopefully now, yours, too!

I love to learn and be creative, whether that be delving into microbiology lessons in the dead of night, or discovering something new elbow deep in soil – every moment, to me, feels enriching.

Year after year, I learn more about what it really means to be in touch with nature, what we can do to protect it and how much it has to offer in return.

I tried to do a proper video and this is the result. 😂 Winter gardening jobs I focus on in the colder months! Make sure you’re looking after your wildlife 🤍 Over the next week I’ll be planning what I’ll be growing, where and how much throughout the year to keep me going all year round! 🙌 So this year I decided to self-therapise in lots of different ways to find peace day to day, confidence in myself and find my old self again. I’m actually really proud of this year, and thankful for people in my life that have brightened up my days, helped when I’ve reached out and made my life on a whole, amazing. I love them. Most ardently. *quivers* November stuff: Barely anything left to do in the garden, (other than bloody weeding!) so I made wax melts with the flowers & peppermint I’ve been infusing in oil for the last couple months 🥲 down another 4llbs - ready to pile back on with cheese in December 😙 This year I decided to grow my own luffas (commonly known as Loofah sponges) Adding another organic ‘grow it yourself’ item to the household! 🌱 These can be used as a body scrubber, the washing up and as part of a cute DIY gift in a Christmas hamper ✨ If you can grow cucumbers, pumpkins or courgettes - you can grow luffas! If you struggle to grow any of those, try anyway 😜 . Getting into the last exciting moments on the growing season now in October, a few last things to harvest for eating, drying and such! I’ll be making a separate video on how I’ve processed my Luffas to make sponges soon! Can’t wait for Spring already! 😆🌱 Potting up some bin plants salvaged by the ma in law, spooky snacks, the last of the rudbeckia, cats, walks, Pilateeeeee, runs, coffee.. been listening to a lot of shipwreck YouTube channels which is oddly interesting 😂 - yano, the usual… 🙂 The garden is quieting down now though 💔 Coming into cosy season now ✨ I joined a Pilates class, harvested lots of salad, looking after my luffas, going on long walks and some runs, lost a few pounds and gained some momentum for some more writing ☺️🍂 August outdoor things 🤍 This month I made Elderberry Jam from the garden and visited the Peak District! The roses have bloomed again and all the rudbeckia grew from seed last year is thriving! The luffas are growing strong and I have harvested lavender and peppermint to make candles! Tomatoes and cucumbers are starting to slow down, but the bell peppers and herb patch is still getting bigger! ✨
